((denise valdez)) >> and i'm denise valdez. north las vegas police are investigating. our mauricio marin is live near craig and allen where he's been gathering information. mauricio? ((mauricio marin)) >> at this time north las vegas police are calling this a suspicious death. coroner investigators have just removed the body from the car behind the police units you can see. >> it appears the body may be a very strong odor is coming from the area. indicating the body may have been inside the car for at least a few days. but detectives tell us at this time there are no obvious signs of trauma to the body that could indicate how the man died. it's still early in the investigation but police say the vehicle where the body was found inside is connected to a missing person report that started in north las vegas.

tragedy in red rock canyon... a hiker has plummeted to his death in an apparent accident. metro police tell us the victim was with a group of other hikers and fell approximately 15 stories. this happened just before 6:30. ((dave courvoisier)) >> search and rescue personnel responded, but were unable to save him. it's not immediately clear what caused the fall. we'll bring you any new details as we get them./// ((denise valdez)) all-new details right now at 11 of an intimate, illegal operation... run out of a las vegas home. ((dave courvoisier)) >> 63-year-old david coil is girls on craigslist to perform sex acts on clients... with extremely strange house rules. ((denise valdez)) >> nia wong has those details and reaction from the unsuspecting neighbors. nia? ((nia wong)) >> coil faces several charges...includi ng sex trafficking of a child under 18 and soliciting and engaging in child prostitution. and it all happened at his home...which his victims called the "naked house." craigslist posts advertising
services and "you know what it's about....and it's not a massage" were offered at this home...according to david coil's arrest report. ((kirk duldulao/neighbor: "i just think that it's all in movies, obviously, i never think that i would witness that in real life.")) right next door...kirk duldulao says it's hard to believe his 63-year-old neighbor recruited several young women to take part in sexual acts in exchange for money. the report says house rules required them to take off their clothing as soon as they entered....before massaging ((kirk duldulao/neighbor: "it's just wrong...that's not right, i have a daughter myself, that can be anyone's daughter right there.")) in a dark twist....coil reportedly admitted his own adult daughter engaged in the operation. ((kirk duldulao/neighbor: "every once in a while a car would come by and i would think it was just a family member but i don't think, i never thought anything of it.")) one of coil's workers, who was underage, confessed to a clark county school district teacher who then alerted metro of suspected human trafficking activities.

((lt. patricia spencer, vice and sex trafficking: "young adults should be aware of when they are answering ads online to make quick easy money, they need to be mindful that there could be something bigger at work there." )) a detective posing as a teenage girl online...convinced coil to meet him at a nearby restaurant where he was arrested on tuesday. ((da wolfson: "when all of the evidence comes out , it will reveal that he committed very serious crimes." )) as for duldulao....he says his 9-year-old daughter is now afraid to visit his neighborhood.. ((kirk duldulao/neighbor: "it breaks my heart that i can't even bring my own daughter home (stitch), it really does affect me and the whole entire neighborhood.")) ((dave courvoisier)) well, the raiders say they want las vegas... las vegas wants the raiders... but after a new proposal today it's still very far from a done deal. ((denise valdez)) >> sands corp has laid out an ultimatum -- and they promise they won't budge from it -- for public financing. jon tritsch is here with the details of today's talks. ((jon tritsch)) >> the estimated price tag for an nfl stad but the magic number remains 750. as in 750-million dollars in public funding for the nearly two-billion dollar, 65-thousand seat stadium. and the parties who want to see it built are putting the pressure on the city. las vegas sands president and c-o-o robert goldstein said at today's meeting that sands will walk away from the table if their terms aren't met... and warned that they won't wait a long time on a decision. representatives from majestic realty and sands made their
identifying their top two potential sites for a stadium... one near russell road just west of i-15... the other where the bali hai golf course is now. the stadium mock-up is nearly identical to a rendering that was submitted when the raiders flirted with l-a... only with a dome on top. excitement started today with the revelation that the team has filed a trademark for the term "las vegas raiders" but they're putting the cart way before the horse -- like we said, money will talk. 40-percent of the funding to come from the public. that cash would come from a nearly one-percent increase in hotel room taxes. the committee has to make a recommendation on whether to pursue the plan... governor sandoval could then call a special legislative session to approve the funding... and three-fourths of nfl owners would still have to vote to approve relocation from oakland. a lot still to play out, guys. ((jon tritsch)) >> that was a big nugget that kind of got lost in the excitement today -- unlv football is still very much a part of the plan to play in the stadium -- if it's built. and the f-a-a says these sites are workable./// ((dave courvoisier)) thank you, jon. the big selling point we heard today for using public dollars to build a stadium is all the revenue an nfl team would produce. one valley commercial real estate agent tells us she's already getting interest from businesses wanting to cash in on prime property near potential stadium sites: (( jennifer ott/commercial alliance las vegas president-elect: "we have had quite a few clients asking about it. we work on a project on th that has come up. clients want to know if it's true or not. it's a game changer for las vegas to get professional sports here. nhl has been a big deal and getting nfl here is even bigger." )) ((dave courvoisier)) >> the proposed sites could transform the las vegas landscape... with potential for huge development south of the strip's busiest corridor: (( jennifer ott: "i foresee the stadium and the proposed sites really activating the south strip and the growth going down towards the south point and the m." i think that we will see a increased resort activity down that way

another earthquake has struck near amatrice, italy... with a preliminary magnitude of 4.7. that's smaller than the magnitude six quake that rattled the country just two days ago... but still large enough to cae no word yet on any new injuries or the extent of the damage from this quake. at least 250 people died in tuesday's tremor./// ((denise valdez)) newly released video could help shed light on a woman's mysterious murder. this is surveillance video from outside 61 year-old kathleen ploutz's apartment building near d-i and paradise on the night of july 17-th. metro detectives are asking for help identifying the man seen with her in this video.

the region. hottest over to the east side of the valley where we're lower in elevation. not as hot over the west sid eand foothillls at today. great conditions up in kyle canyon where it still remain comfortable in the afternoon and evening hours. ................. .................. ........... region-wide temps show it hottest in the death valley and laughlin. very warm down the colorado river valley with in the 100's this afternoon from mesquite down river to laughlin. not as hot and more tolerablet temps can be found up in the central great basin. ................................ ... ........... u.s. temps show hot and muggy conditioc the lower plains through the deep south. the heat returns to the mid-atlantic states but not as muggy as early august where heat indices were up to 105 in some spots. cooler in the upper plains with more warm weather for seattle as they continue with sunshine and heat. ................................ ... ............ dry and hazy conditions can be found right now, with storms firing up in lincoln and mohave counties. we do expect a chance of some of this moisture to return in a southerly and southeasterly flow as the next system comes in from the west increasing moisture and storm chances for tomorrow and saturday. best chances still remain in the higher terrain
